Disabling Thumbnail Previews

The objective of thumbnails in Windows is for helping a user to quickly identify files while browsing the computer. This feature is very useful when browsing a list of video files. If your PC is old and slow, it may be because of this also. To get rid of the thumbnail previews and to make your computer speed normail again, do the following steps -

1) Double-Click on “My Computer” icon.

2) Click on the “Organize” option from the drop down menu and now select the “Folder and Search Options” checkbox.

3) Now click on the “View” tab.

4) There’s a section called “Files and Folders” , under it,  select the “Always show icons, never thumbnails” checkbox.
