Job Description:
? Forecast trends, develop designs, trend collections, design forecasts and manage the design team and all design processes.
? Range planning and development – Styles, Mancaps, Costing and Samples.
? Guide the assistant designers, sampling people and ensure the range prepared as per the merchandiser requirement and the latest trend collections in the market.
? Regular correspondence with the merchandisers and organising their visits for range selection.
? Fabric and colour selection, sketches of the line, development of swatches, proto sample and new range according to the specifications and forecast.
? Range sell-in presentation to the internal customer, final samples for highlight and comment incorporation of salesman sample.
? Presentation of themes and colour palette for every season.
? Vendor development, follow ups, quality assurance of the fabrics embellishment for the collection beadwork, embroidery, prints, sequin work, thread work and others.

Design and Development

? Identifying brand requirements and understanding the customer profile for improvising better growth.
? Interfacing with the merchandisers for facilitating smooth order execution and handling the entire design cycle from trend research to final range presentation and booking.
? Support creation of the new retail business, ensuring sharp brand positioning and distinctiveness in the market space.
? Devise and establish strong processes across Design to facilitate control and scale up for the biz.

Sourcing and Procurement

? Planning a lot of market surveys in and outside Bangalore for procurement of fabrics and trims for the season.
? Also coordinating with the merchandisers and retail store managers to help them understand the season’s trends for fabrics and colors, which help them in procuring fabrics.
? Collaborate with the cross-functional team to achieve seasonal targets aligned with long-term strategy for the brand.

Operations

? At the seasons’ start formally presenting the thematic presentation to the entire team and planning of the entire season
? Interfacing with the vendors, sending out the design details to them and doing a continuous follow up on the sampling.
? Interacting and working closely with the merchandisers and retail store managers for presenting a better range every time.
? Presenting the range to the team and helping them out through the booking till the product reaches the floor.
? Ensure relevant product Design consistent to the store and brand positioning of the brand and support best-in-class execution against these objectives.
? Track retail market trends, competition and plan strategies to ensure the brand achieves a healthy and a growing market share.

Desired Candidate Profile:
Degree or Diploma in Fashion Designing having 3 – 5 yrs of experience in design process, ability to forecast trends like sketching, painting, tie-die, pattern making, element of design and colour theory of Women’s Apparel Segment, Season Themes, Design Development, Pre Production Sample Development and Product Development with top tier retail fashion brand.
Incumbents should have demonstrated the designing ability to create collections taking into account the target profile, design forecast and willing to travel extensively having sound knowledge in costing, inventory management with a high degree of Credibility, Integrity and excellent market knowledge, planning & coordination skills, analytical skills, negotiation skills and commercial skills.
