The Chief Commissioner of Income-tax, Chennai-I and CCA, Chennai invites
application from meritorious Sports persons in the disciplines of Cricket(Men
only/Hockey(Men Only)/Volleyball(Men only/Football (Men only)/ Basketball(Men
only)/Athletics(both Men and Women) for the following posts :

Inspector of Income-tax
pay structure (Pay Band (PB) & Grade Pay (GP) : 9300-34800 4600 (GP)

Tax Assistant
pay structure (Pay Band (PB) & Grade Pay (GP) : 5200 – 20200 2400 (GP)

Peon
pay structure (Pay Band (PB) & Grade Pay (GP) : 5200 – 20200 1800 (GP)

The following categories of Sportspersons Viz. (1) who have represented the Country/State in the National/International tournament during the years 2007-08 and 2008-09 and (2) who have represented a University in the inter University Tournament conducted by the inter University Sports Board during the years 2007-08 and 2008-09 in anyone of the above
disciplines would be eligible for appointment subject to the fulfillment of other conditions laid down above.

Age limit:
Inspector of Income-tax and Tax Assistant Posts : 18 to 27 years and 18 to 32 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 18 to 30 years in case of OBC candidates as on 01.03.2010. The Upper age limit is relaxable up to a maximum of 5 years (10 years in case of SC/ST) in the case of
sportspersons with exceptional achievements and who satisfy all other eligibility conditions and who furnish the necessary certificates;

Peon Posts : 18 to 25 years and 18 to 30 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 18 to 28 years in case of OBC candidates as on 01.03.2010. The Upper age limit is relaxable up to a maximum of 5 years (10 years in case of SC/ST) in the case of sportspersons with exceptional
achievements and who satisfy all other eligibility conditions and who furnish the necessary certificates;

Additional Information:
The posts are temporary but are likely to be made permanent. The persons selected are liable to be posted anywhere in Tamil Nadu. Those sportspersons who satisfy the above qualifications/conditions may send their application with the following information :
1) Candidate’s name,
2) Permanent Address,
3) Communication Address,
4) Sex,
5) Date of Birth,
6) Age as on 01.03.2010,
7) Whether SC/ST/OBC with Nativity,
Educational Qualification,
9) Proficiency and achievements in Games and Sports along with Form 1 / Form 2 / Form 3,
10) Current Performance (full details indicating whether the candidate is now representing the State, University). True copies of educational qualifications, evidence of Date of Birth, SC/ST/OBC certificate in standard form attested by Gazetted Officer of State/Central Government, should be submitted along with the application.
